Women’s Day 2021
Our church celebrated Women’s Day on September 26, 2021. Our colors were black with hot pink accessories. Anyone who knows me, knows that I don’t usually follow the rules when it comes to fashion and my style. So I had to make this look my own.
I made this skirt and top for the occasion. The skirt is a self drafted straight skirt with an elastic waistband. The top is the banded bottom pattern hack using Simplicity 8656. I added ribbed knitting to the bottom of the top and elastic in the sleeves. The top and skirt were made from a black pleated stretch knit polyester. I don’t remember if I bought the fabric from Fabric Mart or Minerva. However, Minerva has fabric very similar to this one. This was a very easy sew and because knit does not fray, I left the neckline and skirt bottom unhemmed.
My hot pink accessory was a fanny pack made from hot pink faux leather bought at Walmart. I added rose gold attachments for accent. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
