Minerva Maker Team
Hi I’m Zina and new to the Minerva Maker Team. You can read more about this beautiful fabric and buy it on their website. I chose a grey and white striped scuba knit for my first project and Vogue 8968 for the pattern. I’d made this pattern before so I was comfortable with the fit. I wanted to play with the stripes in the scuba knit to add contrast to the dress. Mission accomplished! I also love the way the scuba knit holds its shape (which is why I like it sew much). I even made a matching purse.
My son also wanted me to make him something, sew I decided on Simplicity 9018 for him. This was a pretty quick sew. I made it in about an hour that Sunday morning before the photo shoot. I added red ribbed knitting to the collar. The vest ended up being a little short for him so I’ll lengthen the pattern next time. Finally, with the leftover fabric, I made a T-shirt dress and did a video tutorial on the process. Overall, this fabric was perfect. It held its shape, was easy to work with, and breathable. Pattern Description: Misses' Handkerchief-Hem Dresses
Pattern Sizing: XS - XL; I cut View B in L and added the cuff and pockets.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes. I added pockets.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy. I didn't really need the instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like how easy this dress comes together.
Fabric Used: Minerva Crafts grey and white scuba knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added pockets. I also only cut out 2 pieces on the bottom (instead of 4) so the wrong side of fabric is showing.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, this was my second make and mom is going to make one also.

Pattern Sizing: XXS - XXL; I cut View C in XS for my son.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes. The collar was a little tricky.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This was a quick project. I made it in about an hour.
